Home with a Sickie

Our youngest has been fighting a bug. She's on antibiotics now. It looks to be a UTI. She has been quite lethargic and miserable with it (as anyone would be with that kind of pain), but she's on the mend. However, rather than exposing her to who knows what germs at church we thought we should give her another quieter, slower day at home. We'll see how she does today and perhaps tomorrow she can go back to school. Needless to say, between doctor visits for her and a couple of other unexpected, unplanned things, my week last week didn't go remotely how I had planned it out in my head.

I guess that is the one thing I have learned with God's grace over the years (and especially through the adoption process) that our plans are not necessarily His plans. I've learned to roll with it for the most part. A few years ago, any changes that had to be made in my day that weren't part of MY plans would have completely stressed me out. These days, it's more of a shrug of the shoulders, and an "oh well, I'll just have to make the best of it!" If I look back on it, most days still turn out to be good days, busy days, full days, and that's not a bad thing at all.

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9

Wishing you a blessed Sunday!

  1. Oh, I hope she feels better soon. Did you ever do a post about Bean's pug, Leo? I think I missed it!

My weeks don't always go as planned, but I try my best to go with the flow, I know that God knows what is coming my way and will carry me through. :)

  3. Praying she's feeling better. I'm in awe of how quickly antibiotics often work - thank the Lord for modern medicine :D

And well done on rolling with the punches :D

  5. Being flexible is one of the things God is teaching me over here in the Solomon Islands! Glad you are learning it so quickly and so close to home :-)
