We are normally people who don't do late. I don't like being late for anything! These days though it has almost become normal. I still don't like it, but I just.can't.get.it.together. Especially if it includes children in tow.
I had a bit of a mommy melt down yesterday evening for the simple reason that I was totally overwhelmed. Messes, demands, should do's, could do's, want to do's (this is the worst one). And of course running late again. Most of it is pressure I put on myself.
Someone asked me yesterday if I'd found my new groove yet. Nope! I told her it wouldn't likely happen until mid autumn next year. Even though the girls arrived in June, I'm thinking that the summer holidays will be another ten weeks of high maintenance. However, before I jump ahead, I'll see how these two weeks of holidays go.
Keeping on top of the antics of the Wee Three leaves little room for much else. It's still exhausting. However there is some light at the end of the tunnel. The constant fighting between the three of them is actually becoming less constant.
I'm hoping against hope that the holidays will be peaceful, but the jury will remain out on that one for the next two weeks. (I'll let you know once they're all back at school).
The Engineer is home today and we're going to meet the girls at the arena for school skating (although I'm sure we'll be late ;oD). Bella is super excited about it which makes me smile because she has no clue what skating entails. Standing in a pair on the grass is one thing....
I'll try to post photos this evening of the Great Filipina Skating Adventure :o).
Happy Friday, everyone!
Deborah,
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me on so many levels! I'm studying James right now and I think of you as you definitely put feet and hands to your faith.
I'm praying that this will be an absolutely fabulously stress free two weeks! Miracles DO happen!
Love you

Sounds fun! I'm sure everyone gives grace with lateness. I hope you're sleeping okay!
ReplyDeleteYou aren't the only ones who run late... same here, no matter how ahrd I try. :)
ReplyDeleteI was chuckling about the skating, I really hope it all goes well and your girls don't fall down to often. Grass and ice, yes VERY different! :)
This is a great post! :) The holidays are very crazy, and with so much going on within the next couple days it will be hecticc!
ReplyDeleteWe are always running late too! My dad is better at being on time than my mom is, but of course NO ONE likes to be late.
Have a great day skating!

Being on time isn't valued here in the Solomon Islands. Maybe you should move? We would welcome you with open arms! Although the climate change might be a little overwhelming ;-)
