Welcome Autumn

Summer and autumn are my two favorite seasons.

We awoke to sunshine this morning, which turned to clouds and rain and then sunshine again. It feels more like a summer evening than a fall evening because the humidity is waaaay up. However, Monday morning reminded me very much of autumn.

We awoke to rain Monday morning. It rained all. day. The Engineer was happy because it means his newly seeded lawn is starting to grow. I just enjoyed the peace of it. After a crazy week of appointments, meetings, migraines, pie making, parade marching, food prepping, baptisms, etc., it felt good to see and listen to the gentle rain. I didn't do too much, but keep yet another appointment, and attend our GEMS kick off theme night.

Tuesday dawned cool and sunny. It was such a beautiful day!

The fact that I don't have to go anywhere or see anyone for the rest of the week, encouraged me to get hopping on my day. It was time to get busy in the kitchen! Broccoli, green peppers, celery, tomatoes, and bok choy (some from our garden, some not) were all prepared and frozen.

More yummies from our garden.

Then I got to work using the fruits that were planning on going bad on the counter. Pear bread and banana bread. I felt in the mood for spices too, so I made ginger pumpkin loaf

and pumpkin scones.

Deeeevine!

I hope your day of fall was filled with autumn and GLADness!

P.S. If you have a little extra moment, could you please please vote for our blog!? We would love to stay in the top ten. I'll even make it really easy. Here's the button again:

Thank you kindly in advance!

  8. You and I would make great friends you know. My favorite seasons are the same as yours, though I believe summer would squeak with just a slight head.

And I too get in the mood for baking; fall baking is at the top and I am dreaming already, you have given some very good suggestions.

I am voting for you...because I believe you are a top blog!
