A Blanket for Bella

Remember this afghan I was crocheting? Well, I finished it on December 22nd. Bella's birthday.

I didn't plan that, but it seems more than appropriate to gift it to Bella when we finally go to the PI. It is cotton candy soft with an  even softer white trim.

In the end, it is shaped more like a trapezoid than a rectangle, and I ripped out huge sections more times than I can count, but you know what? I really really like crocheting. There is something so relaxing and methodical about it. Now I'm trying to decide what my next project will be. Does anyone else have some projects in the works during the relative quiet of January?

  1. Bella's blanket is lovely! I am trying to figure out how to do something besides granny squares!

  2. That is Beautiful, nice work!
I was thinking of trying rug hooking. It is suppose to be fool proof:O)

  3. That looks beautiful - so soft and comforting. She'll love it!

  4. What a cozy looking blanket,it is so beautiful!
You have inspired me to pick up the knitting needles...

  5. Oh, it's just perfect, Deb... because it came from you. Surely, it'll be a gift she treasures always!

  6. Beautiful. You are so freaking talented, Deborah!

  7. Deborah,
It's lovely. And, I like the chair that it is resting on!!
I know Bella will feel comforted as she is wrapped in such scrumptiously soft mound of softness!
And, btw, thanks for the blast of artic air you Canadians sent our way!! I read today that 49 our of 50 US states have snow. Brrrrrrr

  8. oh she is going to love to snuggle up in that ~it is beautiful ~Love Heather

  9. It's so delicate and feminine! Almost makes me want one here...

  10. Lovely! And I adore the fringe. What a wonderful touch.

I have too many projects in the works--socks, sweaters, a quilt. But I like being able to craft according to the dictates of my moods, so it all works out!

  11. What a perfect snuggle-blanket! So beautiful, and such a lovely color. I know Bella will love it!
