1000 Gifts

holy experience

The middle of October has already come and gone. What a glorious autumn this has been! We are thankful for many things:

Days filled with warmth and sunshine.

Incredible colour everywhere.

Still sleeping with a window open.

Daylight hours with windows open catching the fall breezes.

A puppy who rarely has an accident in the house.

Crate training is now successful too.

Snuggling a preciously sweet baby boy in the nursery on Sunday morning.

Watching the girls jump rope and trying to learn double Dutch.

Ribs cooking in the crockpot and scenting the house with their flavours. (We're still using up the meat in our freezer).

A hubby who is as good at cooking as I am

and likes to cook on occasion.

Several of us are still wearing flip flops.

The beans are off, which means we can walk all the way out to the back forty. (More on this in another post).

The children have adjusted well to being in school.

Encouragement and wisdom from fellow adoptive families.

A creative evening out with friends.

An impromptu but way too short a visit with a friend.

Knowing there is much power in prayer.

Fall foods. Pumpkin, squash, apples.

The rich spicy scents of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, all spice.

Continued beautiful weather for fall photo sessions.

Leaves crunching under foot.

Long walks in the bush.

The woodsy scent of autumn.

The scent of wood smoke.

A church that continually seeks to know God's will for its congregation.

An exciting, active, and yet grounded in God's Word youth group that our son looks forward to attending.

Morning silence, once the children have all left for school. The only sounds: a snoring dog, the furnace fan running, and a ticking clock.

Giving thanks to our Saviour for His goodness: #'s 794-822 You too can be part of the gratitude community. Join us here.
