Even though the Original Four are all attending school this year, it doesn't mean I'm off the hook. Now there's homework to supervise and instrument practicing to oversee. Not only that, but I've begun putting together ideas and gathering materials for the Wee Three. Since their English will be minimal at best and their schooling has also been minimal, I thought it would be best to start from square one with some fun work books that I picked up at Costco. (Love that place!!) Mmm, and brand new crayons! Does anyone else love the smell of brand new crayons?
I am also attending a preschool activity bag exchange on Saturday. This was the activity that I was assigned to make.
Isn't he cute! It's a number puzzle made out of that coloured foam stuff, glued to cardstock, and "neatly" outlined with a black marker. I had to make ten of them. Can you say time consuming? And I procrastinated big time on this project!
My plan is to take these activity bags with us to the PI when we travel, so that the girls will have something to do on the plane. It is a 20 hour flight, and I'm sure none of us will be able to sleep the entire time. Having these bags will enable me to get a grasp of how much they know and how much work is ahead of me to enable them to begin catching up to their Canadian peers.
In the next couple of weeks I would like to begin making a list of the various activities that the girls and I can do that will help with eye contact as well as physical contact to enable the bonding and attachment process. Should be fun!
You are so ORGANIZED! Good for you! So making those very cute caterpillars wore you out? Boy, do I know what you mean. Now you know why I'm enjoying my unemployment!! Try doing that 25 times every few days or weeks for 10 months for 18 years! I'm perfectly ok with NOT making 25 caterpillars, frogs, butterflies, etc. for now. Happy crafting!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!!! I can't wait for you :O) God is so good to us!!!
ReplyDeletePraying that God will direct you to just the right activities and resources that will meet the need of your wee three!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you and can't wait to hear the rest of the adventure.
grace to you

Oh, you have the BEST heart ever!
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to follow you on your journey!
ReplyDeleteI miss Costco. We had one on Maui, and it was wonderful (that many years ago!). Sam's Club doesn't even come close in my opinion.
