One thing I have discovered though, is that I'm quite enjoying two of the DVD's. They're both active enough to cause me to break a sweat, but at the same time the routines are manageable enough that I don't feel like Bambi on ice :o).
This video is fun! She makes me laugh and it's very doable for uncoordinated me. Love it!
This one is also very doable and I love that I am done from start to finish in half an hour. Great for those mornings when we have to be at the pool by 8 am!
When I'm not doing the DVD's, I have a workout routine that I do in the pool, or the Engineer and I go for a brisk evening walk. I have also ordered another set of DVD's that have a unique approach to exercising that I am anxious to try. If they work well, I'll be sure to let you know :o).
We have been trying to walk more, too. I like to wait until it is dark but even then the air is thick and still. The upside is that people water their lawns at night and I like to run through their sprinklers. :)
ReplyDeleteYou should have lost weight by now if you want email me and we can brainstorm....maybe if you tell me what your doing I might be able to offer some advice...I also have a friend who is a personal trainer and a friend who is a model and between the 2 of them I have learned alot this year maybe I can pass on some of what they have shared with me.....~I will be praying for you Love Heather
ReplyDeleteI have heard really good things about the walking DVD. I am pretty sure that if you stick with this, the weight loss will come in time.
ReplyDeleteYou can't lose with Kathy Smith. She's been around forever. It's possible you are not losing weight because you are toning and building muscle, which actually weighs more than fat. Eventually, the weight loss will come!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your commitment to exercise. I completely understand how hard and how long it takes to shed those pounds. One suggestion is to make sure you eat small well balanced meals about every 3 hours. Key phrase...small meals. Eating the right foods combined with exercise can keep your metabolism up and you will lose weight.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!

I like Leslie Sansone, too. I think she's my favorite. Of course, I gave up excercising for Lent. Hah. Or something like that!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey! That sounds really good. I'd be thrilled to stop gaining--who cares about loosing? ROFL. Seriously, great job.
ReplyDeleteI have the perimenopausal tummy as well and I hate it with a passion. Going almost vegan helped take off 8-10 pounds (varies from week to week), but I want the rest of it gone. I still haven't found anything that has worked. I tried the Walk Away The Pounds videos years ago when I was trying to lose excess weight from my first preganancy, and they didn't help. I did enjoy the workout very much though, and it was very easy to do.
ReplyDeleteKeep plugging away! I'm anticpating about 3-4 months from when I actually start (he he) to see anything! Doesn't quite seem fair does it....we work so hard and nothing. I feel your pain. Keep up the good work!
