Our kids have exhausted the supply of
Tintin of books at our local library, so when they discover that a new one has arrived, there is much excitement. Last Friday, they discovered two new (to them) titles. Of course out of their new supply of books, those were the ones fought over when they arrived home, and by Sunday evening, I think everyone had seen/read them at least once.
I don't read them anymore ;-), but as a kid I loved to read them too. I'm not sure why. They're really kinda corny. I think half the lure was to discover what many disasters would befall Whitey in each adventure. I'm not even sure I like how they're written. They almost seem sort of...evil? So, what is it about Tintin that keeps readers coming back?
I love how all the little tiny animals are circled up, watching the last daughter read her book!
ReplyDeleteMy boys like Tintin too, and I can't stand it. They have four of their own and I always shove them to the back of the shelves. But I'm just not a fan of comics... just not my personal taste.
Cute pics :0)
I have no idea! I've never read them or even heard of them! Those picture say it all though... your kiddos are very absorbed... and so are the animals I see! :o)
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to say thank you for your thoughtful response at my blog today. I really appreciate your opinion and feel so much better to know I'm not the only one who felt this way. You have been a real encouragement to me. (warm smile)
