Fifteen Years!

My husband and I are celebrating fifteen years of marriage today. I can honestly say they've been mostly good. I can be the difficult one, so my dear husband might beg to differ. However, I just asked him and he also said, "mostly good".

Both of us are very strong willed. Him silently and me more vocally. (Needless to say, some of our children are suffering strong will overdose :-)). Despite both being strong willed, the Lord has matched us well. He knew that depending on the situation one of us would be inclined to not argue. We have had many discussions yes, but I can think of only once that we had words -- lots of words. God has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams. I always wanted to be a wife and stay-at-home-mom. The best part is now even my children are home with me.

How are we celebrating? Well, to be honest, I am always confused on our actual wedding date. It is October 2, 1993, NOT October 3, 1992, so I was once again unprepared. My hubby on the otherhand had a wonderfully touching card for me sitting on the buffet this morning and came home early this afternoon with a bouquet of flowers.

Tomorrow we will take the kids out for a special dinner. No place fancy, but the food is very good, and no *cringe* it's not McDonald's.

We had wanted to go away for the weekend, but our trusty babysitters (aka. my parents) decided to head out west for her sister's 50th wedding anniversary. I think that's pretty important, so we'll postpone for a few weeks. I think the last time we went away just the two of us was seven years ago, so I will try not to feel guilty about leaving my kids for the weekend. They always have more fun with the grandparents anyway.

  2. Happy Anniversary!

It was our daughter's 15th birthday as well. She seems nearly grown up!

I get confused in a similar way with my anniversary.

We have had a quiet week, we could have had many chats, but still had one at home, though that was good too.
