Last Friday four of our girls participated in field day at school. It was supposed to be on Thursday, but was postponed a day due to inclement weather. It turned out Friday was almost worse. We had drizzle, snow, sleet, icy temperatures, and even a little sunshine.
Despite it all, the girls seemed to enjoy themselves. I was working in the kitchen, so I was only able to catch them all at one of their stations.
Bright Eyes at the ball throw.
Bella and Squirt getting briefed on running the 100 m. Squirt is in the brown.
Some final instructions.
Go!
Can you tell that she loves to run?
Squirts group!
Beans at the high jump. She was so cold at this point that her teeth were chattering. Thankfully it was their last event. Up....
And over!
This shot was when she ended up out. Her third try and still knocked off the bar. Don't you just love those bright stripey socks? At least they matched. I can't always count on that!
I have to admit, I was thankful to be indoors most of the day. It was bitterly cold! I really hope that next year they plan to host the day early, so that if a rain date needs to be planned there will be a few days in between and the weather will be better. Oh well!
That looks so cold! But still fun.
ReplyDeleteLove your bright, cheery yellow :D
Julie
At least you got some wonderful pictures out of the deal! My teeth were chattering just reading this post. :)

HI Deborah! It looks like a lot of fun! I know the sun will shine for you very soon!
ReplyDeleteYay for cheery socks and brave (albeit cold) girls!
ReplyDeleteThe kids do not look all that cold, but that lady in the white parka makes me shiver!
