“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” ~Ansel Adams
This is a Voigtlander Avus camera circa 1927-1935. It formerly belonged to a lady that my mom worked for, but before she moved, she gifted it to us. The neat part of it is that we were able to see the photographs that were taken with it by her late husband. They have been beautifully scrapbooked by him and my mom brought us one of the albums to look through. It was fascinating. It has made the camera all the more special to us.
P.S. You might have noticed that I skipped Day 7 A Silhouette. We have had no sun again for days. When we have sunshine again, I will take a photo. I have an idea of exactly what I would like to do for it, if the sun would only shine.
Cool camera. I love the Ansel Adams quote.
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy it would be to take pictures with such a beautiful camera! Isn't it nice when we can find beauty in such utilitarian objects? Thanks for sharing, Deborah :)
