The Watoto Children's Choir Concert of Hope

This has been a long anticipated event in our home. When the Engineer booked this event back in September for The Watoto Children's Choir to come sing at our church, our children already began talking about it with excitement. It was still fresh in their memories because we had just seen them at another nearby church just a month before.

This African children's choir consists of a group of children from Uganda. They range in age from seven years old to fourteen years old. They are children orphaned by AIDS and war. These children are all part of a family unit living in individual homes in a Watoto village. Watoto children grow up in these villages with a Mum and brothers and sisters. It is Watoto's goal to raise these children to be the next generation of leaders. You can read far more about it here for Canada, and here for the United States. It is an amazing program!

The children did a beautiful job! It was a night of worship, praises to our Lord, and fun too. The church was packed!! What a blessing to watch their beautiful faces lifted up and song and to see them dance. Oh to have their energy! If you ever have the opportunity to go see these wonderful children in concert, I highly suggest you empty your calender and go! They are not to be missed!!

If you would like to see some more photos of last night's concert, you can go to our photoblog.

Happy Friday!
