For years, I have wanted an Advent wreath.
After seeing how costly buying a pre-made one was, last year I decided it was time to make my own. A trip to the dollar store, the Engineer's silver 4-H tray, and some greenery pruned from the trees bordering our yard, and I had a wreath. Oh, the greenery needs to be replaced occasionally, and perhaps it is a bit of a fire hazard, but we only burn the candles during dinner, so they're well watched. It's not perfect, but it works, and is another reminder of our anticipation of Christ's birth and even more His return!
Oh that's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAfter years of just cobbling something together my mom found me one at a garage sale.
Yah!

Of the two things I most look forward to at this time of year is the Advent Wreath and going to see Handel's Messiah performed by the Oratorio Society. Blessed worship.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I am sure it looks pretty on your table! I can almost smell it! Wish I could! Happy, happy, dear Deborah!

ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone!
ReplyDeleteJulie, hooray for garage sales! Love 'em!
Cathy, I love Handel's Messiah too! I plan to listen to it one afternoon or evening when the house is a little more peaceful and I can absorb it.
Pom Pom, funny thing is, all those cut branched and not even the faintest whiff of greenery. I'm never sure why...
What a great idea! I will have to remember that next year!
