It was Remembrance Day here in Canada, and Veteran's Day in the United States today. All across North America soldiers, veterans, and citizens gathered to remember those who were lost in the wars that have been fought by our nations.
We also gathered to give thanks for the freedom that we have been so graciously blessed with in North America. The service at our small town cenotaph was moving and reverent. Bub, Peach, and Beans all had the privilege of laying a wreath in honour of our fallen soldiers.
I was reminded again of the freedom and blessings that we so take for granted, and to pray the soldiers who are still involved in military conflict, as well as their families.
Thank you to those who serve our countries so willingly and selflessly. May God surround you with His love and protection and strengthen and encourage your families as they wait for your safe return.
Great post enjoyed the pictures and tribute ~Blessings Heather
ReplyDeleteWow! We attended our local ceremony ... in snowpants and mittems in the middle of a slush blizzard. It was quite cold and windy, BUT there were TONNES of people there! Yay!
ReplyDeleteWow, Remembrance day in short sleeved shirts, who would have thought it was possible? last year i was FREEEEEZING and barely lasted the hour long ceremony with my little babies... but this year, wow, it was glorious.
ReplyDeleteI love that your kids were able to be a part of the ceremony.... it is so good for us to remember.
God bless
