A Little Embroiderer

Peach has always been a crafty one :o) from the time she could put crayon to paper. She is now at an age where she can do almost everything very independently. She loves to sew, draw, colour, knit, and do hand stitching, among other things.

This week she was busy on a project relating to Thanksgiving:

Her stitches amaze me! So neat and tiny! I told her that if she had lived in the 1800's women quilters would be jealous of her work.

As a result of her stitching, it seems her baby sister has caught the bug too. Peach patiently worked at teaching Squirt how to stitch and now Squirt is working on a project of her own.

Once the girls are done, I hope we can put together a fall themed quilt or runner with each of their hand stitchery included with in it.

  3. Curious how Peach learned to stitch? She's great! My little stitcher would love to be able to do something like that :-)

  4. I'm not sure how she learned to stitch so well. It's a gift I'm sure. We just use cotton cloth, embroidery floss we found at a second hand store, and small wooden hoops from Walmart(?), but I've also seen them at the second hand store too. It's a fun way to keep them busy and creative.
