A Wedding Day

While our children were in the able bodied care of my parents, we took a relaxing drive towards the location of the Engineer's niece's wedding. We enjoyed some strolling, shopping, and a leisurely lunch finally making it to the church with ten minutes to spare.

Then, um, yeah... we watched a wedding ceremony that lasted all of twenty minutes. We, being of the Reformed faith we thought maybe we'd fallen asleep during part of the ceremony and had missed the sermon and the singing. Our one SIL joked that it was a good thing we weren't late or we would have missed it all together.

Anyways, there was a beautiful string quartet serenading us with various lovely pieces from Handle before the service and the service was still nice -- just waaay shorter than what we're used to.

To precursor these frighteningly poor quality photos. Let me just state that we are not wedding photographers. Apparently there is a reason for that. However, we also didn't want to use our flash because we didn't want it to interfere with the paid photographer -- and he was good -- very good!

The string quartet.

Daddy walking his daughter in.

The beautiful bride and handsome groom.

The bride's older brother.

The bride's younger brother and sister. Doesn't she look like a sixteen year old version of our Beans?

Another beautiful niece!

Who just so happened -- (right J)? -- to catch the bouquet in the bouquet toss. Hopefully there will be another wedding sometime soon.

The eating of the cake. About thirty seconds later, it was all over both of their faces.

It was a lovely day.

  1. Your pictures turned out wonderfully! It was nice to see them: my camera, being a $200 point and shoot, doesn't take nearly the same quality as your cameras do! Maybe someday I'll spring for a really good camera.

Don't get too excited about another wedding! It won't be happening TOO soon, no matter what the bouquet toss said!
