Let's Go Fly a Kite

It was a balmy, but windy day today, so the girls decided to make little kites.

After they didn't fly quite the way they anticipated, they searched out our small stash of roll paper and made a bigger one. They secured sticks to it with scotch tape, and as we moms all know, scotch tape is primarily only good for wrapping gifts and repairing torn pages. Finally, after it crashed a few times, I suggested duct tape.

A little mom intervention...

Voila!! We have lift off. And absolute glee on my children's faces. Sometimes being a mom is the simplest and most satisfying job in the world.

I'm thinking next year we need to study aerodynamics and maybe even thermals. Perhaps a field trip of hang gliding is in order. (Dream on Mama, dream on).

  1. I absolutely love the picture of them both hunkered down on the driveway, conspiring to make it airborne.

    Can't wait for the giveaway!

Seeing your girls outside with the wind blowing just makes me want to sing..."Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height, let's go fly a kite and send it soaring. Up through the atmosphere, up where the air is clear, oh let's go fly a kite."

    haha
