A Stubborn One

A conversation I heard while sitting at the dining room table.

Dad: "Squirt, find yourself a book and read it!"

Squirt: " Fine! I'll find myself a book and look at it!"

Dad: "No, I want you to read it."

She is: Still. Not. Reading. Not because she can't, but because she won't. The other day, she was working on something and actually wrote phonetic words all on her own. She showed me and it made perfect sense. She also read beautifully to me one day last week, but THAT hasn't happened since.

She's a stubborn one, our Squirt!!

  1. Ummm... scavenger hunt? Follow the printed out clues?

Silent morning - no talking, only communicate by writing?

Sometimes writing comes before reading... as well as along with it.

Write my grocery list for me?

    Leave a note for Daddy?

I'm just thinking "out loud" :0)

  2. Lol! I was thinking along those lines too. She lives for snack so I thought I should write out directions for her on where she can find her snack each morning.

These are some great ideas! Thank you Julie!
