I made sugar cookies which I let them decorate. I got out the icing bags, made royal icing and let them go to it. Literally. After I got a couple shots of them happily licking their fingers and squeezing away, I walked away. All I could hear was humming and contented chatter.
The cookies look divine! I used to bake with my oldest all the time, but sadly have lost patience for it. I tend to double and triple batches when I bake and the boys are always so talkative and rambunctious that I get myself confused and can't remember what we've done. I'm hoping to overcome this. I believe cooking/baking to be an extremely important life skill they should be learning as they grow.
