Being Lazy

It's been two wonderful relaxing days around here, but suddenly it was time to get some things done as we had some unexpected, but certainly not unwelcome company, stop by for a visit this afternoon. That meant it was time for the children to finally get out of their pj's and get cleaned up.

Christmas Day was wonderful! After a beautiful and meaningful church service ( for which we were almost late because we decided to take some family photos yet), the sixteen of us spent the day here visting, playing games, and of course eating.

Some even managed to squeeze in a nap.

And a snowball iceball fight.

Yesterday was far quieter. I did some general tidying, and vaccuumed, but then spent the rest of the day reading, sewing, and playing on the Wii with the Engineer and the kids. Beans and the Engineer worked diligently on one of her Christmas presents (a 1000 piece puzzle) which she finished today.

We spent almost the entire day in our almost finished basement. We even had supper (yesterday's leftovers) and a movie yet before we sent the kids off to bed nice and early.

So far today was much of the same -- except that we had company! K and T, friends of ours moved north two and a half years ago. Most of their family is still here, so of course they were down for Christmas. They had a little time left today, so they stopped by for a visit. It was so good to see them again! And so nice to catch up! Things have been good for them there and they definitely have exciting (I mean this in a positive way) times ahead too. I only wish the visit could have been longer. Next summer when we head north we'll have to take a little detour and visit them!

  2. Beautiful family photo! Love the puzzle too - we have several 1000 piece puzzles I'd like to sit down and do, but I never seem to have the patience. LOL

I don't know when I'll get around to talking about why I'm anti-soy so I'll pass this along for you to read now ... http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/soy.htm My mother died of breast cancer and my hometown has extremely high breast cancer (and other cancers) rates so the part about "soy mimics estrogen" concerns me along with the other things mentioned.

  3. Deborah,

I think it would be worth getting to church late to get such a great family photo ;-)

Sounds like you had a very lovely Christmas.
