I just finished the book
The Creative Family, by Amanda Blake Soule. It was an interesting read and it is not a homeschooling book. In her book, Amanda shows how to incorporate creativity into our everyday lives. It is encouraging because she points out that we don't have to be good at everything we create, we can just enjoy using our creativity for our own pleasure. I love how she encourages parents to involve their children in their creativity as well as how she encourage parents to help their children to try many different areas. Children have a whole different way of thinking than we do. It is fun to watch what they will come up with, given the time to be creative.
Amanda's book has been lying around for days now and my children being readers, they have gleaned some ideas of their own from the book. Peach made a fairy house and then took pictures of it with the camera we bought for the children in June.
As you can tell, the kids are still learning how to use their camera, but anyways, there's the little fairy in her pretty fairy house.
If you would like to see some of Amanda's ideas, you can check out her blog here. I always leave inspired!
I took a peek at her blog and am looking forward to visiting more when I have time. This sounds like a great book. I'll be checking my library system for it.
