Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window: semi-darkness. Everything is still lush and green with the exception of one maple who has been thinking autumn since the end of July already.

I am hearing: the washer, the dryer, the microwave, one daughter singing, one daughter coughing and sniffling, four spoons clanking in bowls.

I am pondering: going for a nap once everyone is on the bus. I am soooo tired!

I am praying: for quick healing for a family friend's post surgery, for those in our school and church families who have lost loved ones. For wisdom in dealing with three children who are driving me crazy with some of their behaviours lately.

I am creating: do canning and freezing count?

I am thankful: We enjoyed about 48 hours away this weekend! Friends of our loaned us their beautiful big trailer so we could camp for the weekend. We called it glamping (glamorous camping). If you're used to camping in a tent like we are, this is almost like a spa weekend! ;o) We had a great time! I was very lazy and read two books!

I am wearing: jammies and my big fluffy pink housecoat.

I am going: back and forth to the city multiple times this week.

I am reading: For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn and  He Chose the Nails by Max Lucado.

I am wondering: why, why, why do some kids just not think!?

Looking forward to: the harvest season being done. I am beginning to get tired of peeling, chopping, cooking, bagging. but I refuse to let it go to waste.

In the kitchen: apples, tomatoes, beans.... chopping, cooking, freezing....

Around the house: piles of freshly folded clean laundry, books, apples, beans, tomatoes, :o), two dogs and their never ending piles of hair.

Words for thought: "Life has many ways of testing a person's will, either by having nothing happen at all, or by having everything happen at once." ~Paulo Coelho

One of my favorite things: School days. Really! I relish the silence and the freedom to work and think without any other noises, but the fur brothers.

A few plans for the rest of the week: cooking, cleaning, laundry, putting away the summer clothes and pulling out the winter stuff, trying to do some catching up on the paper piles and other piles.

A picture thought for today:

"Mom, a little help here! I want to sunbathe and he wants to play AGAIN!"

Blessings!

  1. Oh sunbathing- there'll be no more of that around here for many, many months! I'm sending a great big hug across the ocean. It comes from another exasperated mother's heart! Breathe, and drink tea x And definitely go back to bed- I did that yesterday; today I went out and bought more Echinacea!
