Baptism Day (Part 2)

My friend Shelley kindly took all these photos for us on our girls' special day. She was a little stressed because taking photos in church is still not commonly done in many of the churches of our denomination. It is perfectly acceptable in our church, but when you've never done it before it's still very stressful. I still remember the first time I took them in ours. Sweating bullets! Not good when you're wearing your Sunday best :o)! Anyways, I think she did awesome!! Thank you Shelley!!

Praise team. Bub is on drums. Peach and Beans are on vocals.

You can't see it very well, but Bub is wearing his barong.

 The gang with our pastor.

Cousins, family friends, and other children were invited up to join us.

Our pastor explains to the children what he is doing. I love how Pastor Jim always uses words and explanations that enable the children to understand our sacraments too.

 First Bella is baptised,

Then Bright Eyes,

And finally Peanut. The little girl in blue looking on is Peanut's "fwiend!"

The big sister's sing a song for their little sisters.

God Claims You
Child(ren) of promise, God claims you
God helps you, protects you, and loves you too.
And cares for you.

We this day do all agree
[children] of God you'll always be.

[Children]of promise, God claims you
God helps you, protects you, and loves you too.
And cares for you.

We your family love you so,
we vow to help your faith to grow.

Child(ren) of promise, God claims you
God helps you, protects you, and loves you too.
And cares for you.

 Lighting the candles.

I would have loved to have posted the slide show the Engineer put together, but the song is copyrighted. We used the song Children of God by Third Day It's a beautiful song. If you have time, you should really listen to it. I linked to the video with the words so you can understand the whole thing the first time around.

The Engineer wrote almost the entire service for the day by gathering prayers, liturgies, etc. from our denomination's websites. It was a very meaningful service for us as a family. If you are interested in reading more of the service (including hearing the sermon from that day), fire me an email, and I'll send it to you.

Be blessed today!

  10. Beautiful. Of course the photos would not have been so wonderful if it weren't for the subjects and the subject of their day!
