I am sitting outside this morning enjoying the relative peacefulness. The girls
are were all downstairs, so the only noise that was sharing itself with me was the occasional car driving by. I'm surprised at how sporadic the traffic is this morning. It's cool out today, with the promise of an afternoon warm enough for swimming -- provided the north wind doesn't pick up again like yesterday. In a mere three weeks, there will be plenty of buses added to that traffic. I am cringing at the thought of school. The summer hasn't been long enough. We haven't done everything on our list yet. At the same time, as much as I'm cringing, I'm looking forward to routines again. Different routines than summer. I'm hoping to get some things done that just don't happen when there are seven children dispersed throughout the house -- like some painting.
For now, I will continue to sit here and drink my coffee in relative peace and enjoy the music of the birds and the insects. We'll say what today holds...
Thankful for God's grace!
Someone else was enjoying the peace of the beautiful morning too.

I am so happy that your morning was peaceful and enjoying your time listening to the birds. Rest when you can.
ReplyDeleteOh, and that north wind sounds like sweet heaven. We are still hitting near triple digits or over triple digits.

Yes, the word cringe does adequately describe what I am feeling too as the summer days leak away and the daily routines change. I think you have the best idea, sit and enjoy what you have this very moment.
ReplyDeleteYour door is so pretty! Shiny and welcoming!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if your new header was there last time I visited and I just didn't notice... I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Sounds like you had a pleasant morning. :) I know, the summer has just flown by here...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope you are all ok! I just heard about the tornado that was near your area. I don't know exactly where you live, but I know you are over in that area somewhere. I hope you are all ok!!
