Wash Day

Typically wash day is Mondays here. Yes, I'm a traditionalist ;o). However, these days with the renovating going on all around me I really don't want to be attempting laundry at the same time as I have tradesmen marching in and out. There is enough dirt and dust tracking its way back and forth without them having to walk back and forth past piles of laundry. Then there's the issue of where to fold it. I've resorted to folding it all on our bed in the bedroom.  The bedroom we share with three twin beds in wait for three special little girls :o).

These days we are feeling more and more displaced. Our kitchen is going to be torn apart on Monday, so today I am emptying the cupboards. I have absolutely no idea how we're going to do this. I'm planning very simple very basic meals for a few weeks. So thankful lettuce was finally cheap again this week! It's a quick and easy way to get our veggies.

So I'm hopping between packing boxes and loading and unloading the washer and dryer. My floors are filthy everywhere and well, it's beginning to get me a little frazzled. I'm getting to the point where I can hardly wait for things to be finished. Soon I hope. Very soon.

Blessings!

  1. Sending up prayers that this tiem of renovation and waiting will pass quickly. Praying that soon you will move on to a season in your life where you are nurturing three wee ones and bridging 9 lives together into one happy family.
You are in my thoughts and prayers today, dear friend.

  2. Oh I cannot imagine how discouraging it is to have your house torn apart, especially just as you are feeling extra ready to be "nesting". Praying for quick renovations!

  4. I know I've said this before, but I don't know how you're doing it all! Are you thankful you don't have books (from homeschooling) strewn around, too, right now?

  5. Oh, boy--I know the feeling of feeling like you just want things to be done and settled. I hope the renovation goes well and without problems. It will all be worth it!

  6. Remodeling and life still goes on....hang in there. Do you do your largest loads of laundry on Monday, and do other loads throughout the week?
