Happy Canada Day!
It's tradition here. No matter how lame the parade is, we go. Every. Year. So this year, we'll make the mad dash from swimming lessons, to the city, to Tim Hortons, to pick up ice caps (although today coffee might be preferred. It's only 9 degrees Celcius here right now. Sorry, Jena. I told you, you wouldn't see any polar bears if you camped in our yard. Maybe I'm wrong), to find a parking space, to find my parents, who arrived earlier, to save us a spot on the curb, to sit and wait 20 to 30 minutes, to watch fifteen minutes of the same floats as the previous ten years or more drive by. Yeah, we love the parade :o)! Seriously! It's just plain fun! Besides, the kids of course love the free candy that gets tossed out every year. And this year? The parade was actually quite good. Bub loved "the sweet cars!", Peach loved the trick riders, Beans went nuts over all the dogs from our local humane society. And Squirt? She was sitting too far away for me to hear what her favorite thing was, but she sure loves to wave at everyone that goes by!
The rest of the day will be a time to cross things off our to do list and then go back into the city for some more fun and fireworks!
