Chocolate without the Calories

My bloggy friend Summur at Braley Mama gifted some of her readers with a lovely virtual Easter basket full of Easter goodies. I love it because I can have all the chocolate I want without the calories that these days go straight to my thighs :o)!

This Easter, Hershey's is partnering with bloggers to donate $5000 to the Children’s Miracle Network by hosting a blog hop. For each blog that participates Hershey's will donate $10 to CMN. Helping out is as easy as spreading the word and sharing your virtual baskets with friends.

I'd like to send virtual baskets to these friends:

Julie at Herding Grasshoppers
Pom Pom at Pom Pom's Ponderings
Annesta at More Lessons Learned
Wendy at Born in Our Hearts

And if any of my other blogging friends would like to participate as well, feel free to join in!!

Happy Easter to All of my bloggy friends!!!

If you would like to spread the love here are the rules......

  1. Thank you so much for thinking of me! I love this time of the year and I love Easter. My birthday can sometimes fall on or very close to Easter, so I have such great memories of Easter bunny cakes and of course, Easter baskets. AND, I LOVE chocolate.
I am not going to lie to you, I am confused by all the negative press around the big chocolate manufacturers, i.e. Hershey, Nestles, Cadbury... I have added a couple of links that you can look at to do your own research about the issue.
I generally do not buy from any of these large companies and try only to buy Fair Trade. But it seems to me that the Hershey Organization is doing a very good thing by supporting this organization. At the very least it is an extremely cute idea. Virtual chocolate is the only chocolate I will be eating for awhile. At least until have have shed a few pounds for my daughter's wedding...hehehehe!
Thanks again. It has been a VERY long time since I received an Easter basket of any kind!
May your weekend by blessed as you focus on the empty tomb and rejoice on Easter morning.

  2. Annesta, I agree. There has been a lot of negative press around the big chocolate manufacturers. I too eat mostly fair trade chocolate, but mostly because I buy dark, and it's fair trade and organic too :o). I like that fact -- knowing that what I buy helps people instead of hinders them.

I too need to shed some lbs. I allow myself a little piece of dark chocolate each day though. I have it with a cup of tea and curl up for a few minutes with a book.

I'm glad you enjoyed your virtual Easter basket :o). A very Happy Birthday to you too!

    Blessings!
    Deborah

  3. A little piece of dark chocolate with a cup of tea...all curled up. That is a lovely thought. I may have to try that and think of you, my friend!
