Helping Out

Sometimes the children help out without my asking. It makes me happy to see them take initiative on a task. Somehow though, they mostly enjoy the job of dragging pruned Norway maple branches out behind our cedar windbreak. It is a blessing for me because by the time I'm done pruning my arms are aching from reaching up to the branches and working the big pruning shears.

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23

  1. My girls helped today too!! Thanks for the snapshot of encouragement - it's sometimes hard to find the patience to allow them to help at this age. But I know that allowing them to help now will go a long ways in getting them to help when they're your chidlren's ages.

  4. Would they like to come to FL to haul limbs? :) My oldest always says he wants to help, but only lasts on the job about 4 or 5 minutes.
