Snow!!

Our first snowfall began early this morning, so by the time the children and I were rousing ourselves out of bed at seven am, there was already at least 4" on the ground.

Let's just say that school was deemed rather unimportant today, although most of their work was complete before we all went outside. There's nothing like a first snowfall to keep the kids entertained for a good hour (at least) outdoors. I don't last as long -- simply because it's my job to make the hot chocolate when all the cold little bodies return.

It wasn't packing snow, but they had plenty of fun playing keep away with their mittens, (Snoopy is obsessed with winter wear),making tracks, and playing various snow games,

They all returned to the house with rosy cheeks and in a more relaxed state. When the snow finally quit and the sun peeked out late this afternoon, we had a good twelve inches. That's unusual for our first snowfall of the year. Early too!

"As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." Gen 8:22 NIV

  2. These pictures are beautiful! My favourite photo is definitely the one with the flower, and the snow on top. It just started snowing here again. Hopefully it will stay on the ground!

  3. Gorgeous! I'm quite envious. Do you have snow on the ground all winter?

Your house looks so cozy and inviting... I love the pic of the kids on the porch. We want to come play... a little far, though!

  4. Thank you all!

I wish we had snow on the ground all winter!Typically, it snows and melts, off an on all winter.

The last two winters were an exception, but then we really didn't get any snow until January. I just hope we have a white Christmas this year.

  6. These are such wonderful pictures! Snoopy is so cute. I really like the pic of all your children on the front porch. I'm getting cold looking at these though. LOL That's not hard right now though with a cold front still sitting on top of us and our high temp today only reaching the mid-60's Fahrenheit.
