I was out working in the gardens Friday evening when a friend stopped by with her children for a visit. Our kids were already in bed, but I sent her kids up to get them because I knew ours weren't asleep yet anyway. While we visited over tea, the kids played in the basement, and the Engineer mowed the lawn. In the end it was after ten before the kids were in bed.
Saturday we had plans to go to a pow wow at one of the reserves not too far from where we live, but just about the time we were going to leave, it started pouring rain. We stayed home. The kids happily played in the basement and I did some cleaning.
In the evening, we celebrated my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely dinner at a nice little restaurant with just the immediate family. Then we went back to Mom and Dad's for cake and coffee. It was another very late night for all of us, but so enjoyable! Happy 40th Mom and Dad!
Yesterday, was church first and of course, the kids all slept in. (We broke our own rule of being home by 10 pm on a Saturday night ;-) ). We made it to church with time to spare though and very little stress.
After church, it was hurry home, change, pack up some food, and head over to friends' for a bbq. It was a beautiful sunny day, even if we had gale force winds :-)! Lots of swimming and eating was done. Us ladies especially admired the youngest member in attendance. She is just the sweetest little thing!
We were hardly home when it was time to get ready for Peach's party. We had cupcakes thateveryone got to decorate themselves, and later, roasted hotdogs and marshmallows over the fire. (Needless to say, we threw healthy eating out the window once again)!
We also did Grampa and Gramma's anniversary present. Gramma requested an updated grandchildren portrait set up the exact same way as five years ago. The kids cooperated very well and in ten minutes, we had several possible photos for Gramma to choose from.
Alas, it was another late night and swim team came mighty early this morning!
You've been busy!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fantastic photo of your children - such beautiful smiling faces!
