Strata (aka How I Get My Kids to Eat Bread Crusts)

Every so often we have strata for supper. It's something I make that is purely guesswork and is never the same from one time to the next. Tonight's contained: bread crusts (of course), eggs, milk, cheese, zucchini, red pepper, green onions, and ham. I forgot to add some salt so it was a tad bland, but everyone ate it and no one complained. The big bonus: it was a cheap healthy meal, and I used up all the bread crusts that I toss in the freezer.

  3. This reminds me of that movie The Family Stone, when Sarah Jessica Parker makes strata for Christmas morning and then spills it all over the floor trying to get it into the oven. Yours looks delicious!

  5. I have never heard of this. Then again, what I know about cooking could be contained in a small thimble. This looks absolutely DELICIOUS.
