As much as we all enjoyed the Philippines, it is SO VERY GOOD to be home! Jet lagged? For sure! Although I'm not too sure the girls are yet. Our layover in Beijing turned into about twice as long because our plane from Toronto never showed. We were moved gates four times and sorry to say, but the Chinese are very not helpful when it comes to speaking English, so half the time we had no clue what was going on. The girls did really well. A couple of massive meltdowns were had by the two youngest while waiting, but when you are stuck in an airport for twelve hours, it's to be expected. In fact I wanted to have one myself -- and it had nothing to do with trying to keep our daughters from running around in hyper drive. I just wanted to go home!!
When we were finally able to take off, the two older girls were asleep before the plane even left the tarmac, and Peanut fell asleep as we taxied down the runway. They all slept for a good six hours, so no surprise really that they're not particularly jet-lagged yet.
We arrived home at 4 am to our fantastic baby sitters who watched our girls the last two days as my parents had another engagement long ago planned for this weekend. (I'm sure my mom is now chomping at the bit to head home to meet her new granddaughters :o)). There was a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my gardens on the island; delicious cupcakes sitting on the island too with a wonderful cake!
The laundry is started, I've napped, and the girls are having a blast getting to know each other. Our big girls rocketed out of bed when we arrived home at 4 am. Oh, I have missed them so!
Well, that's it for now. I confess we had Tim Hortons at 3 am. I didn't have coffee though, but a hot chocolate and one of their trail mix cookies. Yummo! It is so good to be home!
Thank you to all of you praying us home! Once again we felt your prayers!
Blessings!

So very happy you are home! I had to laugh at your comment about wanting to have your very own meltdown! It's a testimony to what a godly woman that you are that you did not. I have seen plenty of adult meltdowns in airports among other place.
ReplyDeleteHappy, so very happy for you.
Love to you all and may you feel God's extraordinary strength as you adjust to being back home.
