Attempting the First Night

They say the first night together is the most difficult. At this point, I am not doubting it. Three of us are still suffering jet lag. Peanut missed her nap, but is still being very sweet natured. Bright Eyes is busy packing and repacking her backpacks, while big sister Bella makes work of their double bed by jumping on it and yelling at the top of her lungs. We need to work on the concept of inside voice :o).

It will be interesting to see how quickly and well the girls settle in to our "routine" while here. Hopefully we will be able to get them accustomed to certain family things (for lack of a better word) such as holding hands together when we pray and evening devotions and prayers -- things like that.

Well, I'm off to check for that wonderful thing called head lice. Here in the Philippines, its not the horrifying thing that we all seem to think it is in North America. It's simply normal here. Somehow the climate and the hair (?) cause it to be simply inevitable -- and if they have it, then it's almost inevitable  that I have it because there is no lack of affection with these little girls.

Blessings!

P.S. Tomorrow I will have photos... I hope :o)!

  3. The shampoo for lice in the the Philippines is really good! We washed Kim's hair before leaving and then just went through it with a comb once home and never had to deal with it again. And no one else got it incredibly, even though we didn't discover the critters to the end of the week.

  4. I hope that as I type this your three little ones are sleeping quietly!! Our hardest night with Rafael was the first one because he didn't seem to know where he was or what was happening. It may be easier for the girls who are older and may understand more what is happening to them. I pray that all goes well.
Where are you staying in Boracay? You're going to love it there. It's beautiful and the girls will love the beach. The water is so warm. Can't wait to see those photos!!!!!
    Take care and keep posting!

  6. Praying the lice will be nonexistent or at least manageable. We didn't have to deal with that, but we had ringworm in its place. Gotta love a tropical, moist climate!

Can't wait to see more photos!

  11. In our tropcial, moist climate, the solution to head lice is to sit and visit and pit the nits of each other's hair :-) It's a bonding experience!
