Simple Woman's Daybook

For Monday, November 18, 2013:

Outside my window: leaves that need to be raked. The trees are completely denuded now.

I am hearing: the wind gusting like crazy, the fan on the furnace.

I am pondering: how to make Christmas more meaningful and memorable.

I am praying: for many people these days.

I am thankful for: a house that withstands high winds, warmth, the quiet.

I am wearing: yup! still in my pyjamas and housecoat.

I am going: to the school everyday for the last week of volleyball practice.

I am reading: The Almond Tree and Food Matters. They're both really good!

I am looking forward to: the volleyball tournament on Friday. It's a joy to watch the students I've coached for six weeks play hard, do their best, and just plain have fun. I don't care if they win -- I just want to see them having fun and doing their best!

In the kitchen: I really need to get back to menu planning! Some baking needs to be done, and supper may have something to do with turnips or squash. I haven't decided yet.

I am creating: a neck warmer, some more doggie bow ties maybe?

One of my favorite things: Sunday nights when we can all stay in and relax.

A favorite scripture passage:  "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

A picture thought I am sharing:

Happy Monday, dear readers!!

  2. Why not fly over here for the evening of 5th December- for our annual Preparing for Advent event- a quiet time for busy women to centre their hearts and minds as Advent begins! I know a great place where you could stay...

  4. Our trees are almost empty of leaves, too. Just a few left. I don't mind it right now, but I'll mind very much in February. Don't know why that is ...
