A Slow Morning

I am having a slow morning today. Deliberately. I don't have to be at the school until noon to coach volleyball and there is nothing out of the norm pressing at home, so I am savouring the silence, sipping a now cold cup of coffee, reading Thriving Family magazine from Focus on the Family, and debating when I should get up off the couch and get on with the day.

It's a beautiful sunny morning. There's still snow on the ground, but the grass is poking through again and the weekend is forecasted to be quite mild. Perhaps I should get in the gardens and get things finished up in there. The snow quite took me by surprise.

It's hard to believe it's the middle of November! The children's volleyball tournament is next Friday. I am excited for it. It's so fun to watch the kids work hard and play hard. I'm praying they all do well and stay positive. Once the tournament is done, I won't be running out everyday at noon to go coach. I will miss it a lot, but at the same time, I will be relishing the concept of being able to start something and keep working away at it until the first of my children arrive home at 2:48. First up will be scrubbing all the floors. Some sections haven't been done since mid-summer and I know it!

Well, I had better get supper in the crockpot. Today is music lessons and I leave with two of the girls at 4:20, so supper has to be ready when they get off the bus.

I hope you're able to find some slow time in your day today!

  1. Goodness, is everyone getting early snow this year? We sometimes get it in December, usually in January- right through to March last year. But November? Yet it's forecast here too for next week- Operation Readiness is being dusted off as I type!
