Outside my window: A cool 8 degrees Celsius. Sunshine and a promise of 22 Celsius. Everything looks so lush for early August!
I am thinking: About what needs to be harvested for the winter. I've made our first batch of applesauce from our windfalls. I have loads of Swiss chard that needs to be chopped and frozen and zucchinis that need to be shredded and frozen in 1 cup amounts.
In the kitchen: Oatmeal with maple syrup, cinnamon, and dried cranberries for breakfast, some baking with zucchini in it coming up soon, and for supper something with Swiss chard in it.
I am wearing: workout clothes. I just got back from a gorgeous walk. I even watched the sunrise.
I am creating: There's a dishcloth on one set of needles, and a pot holder on another set. No projects are on the go in the craft room at the moment.
I am going: Another week of back and forth to the pool and a couple of special things, but that's it. It'll be a slower week for Mom's Taxi Service. :o)
I am wondering: what to do about my vegetable garden. Some things just aren't growing like they used to. It might just be the weather, but I think I need to be amending the soil.
I am reading: too many books at one time. Hopefully this week I will finish a few of them.
I am hoping: to get the children's chore lists updated, write out a bunch of recipes that sound healthy and tasty, to make a big batch or two of salsa.
I am looking forward to: the Sea to Sea riders coming across on the ferry into Canada on Wednesday.
I am learning: about chickens and chicken coop building.
Around the house: books, swimsuits, dog toys, schedules, and lots of dirt and dog hair. I really must run the vacuum today!
I am pondering: what I am going to do in the fall when the kids go back to school. I think I should make a list and then make it into a schedule so I have a routine for each day.
A favorite quote for today: "Don't be too busy with your life to really live!" Oh how I need to remember this some days!
A few plans for the rest of the week: My biggest plan is to enjoy the sunshine and the warm days yet. I just love this weather!
