Two Whole Weeks of Laziness

More or less.

And boy did we need it!

On the eve of New Year's Eve, I came down with a cold. How that is possible when the seven germ factories are all home and not bringing any new germs into the house is beyond me, but sadly I have a cold and I am miserable. I've concluded I am a lousy sick person. Some people just roll with it, but I don't.  The first few days weren't so bad, but yesterday and today, all I want to do is sleep. It's a good thing I rarely get sick. Add to it a migraine and some other emotional issues and you can understand the lack of posting besides simply the lack of material when all we do is lay around.

Most of us have spent most of our days in our pyjamas, eating when we're hungry, reading, playing computer games, playing board games, playing, colouring, and just being lazy.

I was surprised to see Mt. Laundry blow up considering people are hard pressed to get dressed around here.

So I did spend a day getting that under control again.

I vacuum the floors on occasion because I don't like angora socks.

I did some purging and organizing of stuff -- mostly Christmas decor overflow and stuff related to it.

We had yet another birthday. Bright Eyes turned seven yesterday.

Hopefully everyone is healthy and we can have my family over on Sunday for coffee and treats.

We also got some snow yesterday. It came off the lake in bands.(It does that more often here.)  Just two side roads  west of us there is no snow and when we go into town (east) there  is even more snow than we have here.

The children were pleased to see a decent amount of snow and actually all made it outside. Thus the marching kids in the header. The other photos are from last year. Tomorrow it's supposed to be above freezing and rain again.

Our ice was finally frozen again, but it didn't freeze nice, so we still can't skate. Maybe after the next thaw and freeze again....

I'm ready for some of them to go back to school. I'm even more ready for this rotten cold to go away.

  1. Oh, my sweet friend...colds are so nasty. I am so sorry that you have been attacked by the cold virus and will pray that soon you will feel much, much better.
someone in your home does a lovely job of folding laundry.
Rest when you can and know that I am thinking of you.

  2. This year's cold is a nasty one. Get as much rest and hot fluids into you as you can manage, and don't try to do too much when you think you feel better as this bug tends to come back if you do. Hopefully you don't get the cough I had. I'll be thinking of you. Get well soon.

  3. Wish I could come over and provide supper or help with Mt. Laundry. Alas, the Pacific Ocean keeps getting in the way. Praying you feel better again soon!

But two relaxing weeks sound divine. And snow, to boot! My boys are jealous.

  5. I pray you are starting to feel better. I have been trying to ward off a cold for a couple of weeks now. I wished it would give up and go away. I just love how it is almost a strait slanted line going down from the oldest to youngest. What great picture memories you all have stored up.

    Blessings and ((HUGS))

  6. Besides running around like crazy to get to places, that's exactly what we did over Christmas Break too!

I'm glad that you were able to finish some laundry - such a daunting task sometimes. Love the snow picture... Also like how they all have brown coats. :)

Tell your sweet Bright Eyes happy birthday from me! Those cupcakes looked delicious.

    Blessings,

  8. Lol! Good question Julie!! For the most part, I buy no one the same brand of anything in the sock or underwear department -- unless the sizes are obviously different. Otherwise there are dots in them 1-6 based on their birth order. As for other articles, I just guess sometimes because with the four oldest, they can be switching sizes mid season and if one outgrows it, the next one happily covets it for her drawers.

Tights are a nightmare because very few have tags in them for marking and I'm too lazy/forgetful to stitch something in them to tell them apart. This is where I say, be glad you have all boys :o)!
