A New Bag

I have a thing for tote bags.

My dear friend Annesta gave me this one when she and her beautiful daughter Amy visited us this spring. I love it! It's too nice to take to the beach though, so I made a big, washable one for the beach.

I had seen one similar to it when out shopping for one of the kids and thought instead of paying +$30 for it, I could make my own that would be completely washable! It's not quite the same as the one I saw, but I'm very happy with it! I was amazed at how much I can fit into it!

My favorite thing? The coconut shell buttons.

Oops! I forgot to mention that I made it reversible. Wonder what I'll sew next?

Do any of you my readers have plans for some sewing? And is you're not sewing would you care to vote for me at Circle of Moms. I'd love to get back into sixth place, so tell all your friends to vote for The Drum too, k? Thank you :o)! (Sneaky how I added that little "root for me" there at the very end, yes?) :o).

  4. I love bags, too, and yours are adorable. My latest thing is trying to figure out a way to organize them all. I haven't come up with any good ideas yet. :(

  6. Oh, dear friend, what a clever one you are! The bag is so very, very cute. I love it. Perhaps I can "borrow" it for our Hawaii trip. Since we live so "close" and all. You could just run it over!!!
Oh, and one more thing...you really must get more sleep...I say this because I imagine the only time you have for such beautiful projects must be between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am!!
Thanks so much for sharing your project and inspiring us all to connect with our creative side.
    Blessings

  7. Hi Deborah! I just saw my mom checking out your last two posts, and when she came to this post she was wondering what it was about.

She basically gasped with shock, and was so excited when she saw the bag you made. As I said before, I would love a tote bag, and my mom said that if you are ever up for it and if you ever find the time to make another one similar, she'll pay you for it, if it's around $20.

Let me know your thoughts, and especially if you can't because of your time. :)

    Blessings,
    ~Michlyn

P.S. I was thinking that I would love to send you something as well... but that's a surprise.
