Still Kickin'

Just thought I'd pop in momentarily to say that we're still alive and kicking.

I didn't plan to take a blogging break. It just happened.

We're attempting to make the most of these last fleeting summer moments before school begins.

We've been doing lots and having fun. Beach, birthdays, swim meets, swimming in the dark, hiking, geocaching...

Right now, I'm tired and grouchy.

It's hot and humid again. Thunderstorms rolling all around and risk of yet more tornadoes. We were in Goderich less than 1.5 hours before their pretty little town was ruined by a tornado. I'm sitting outside catching the breeze and watching the lightning. Cool! Oh and here comes the rain! Time to go in!

I had my head examined this week. (Yep, it's as I suspected. I'm crazy ;o)). I go for an MRI in a couple weeks to confirm it -- or not.

I had part of my face cut open today. He hit an artery. Ever have your ear pool with blood? Really weird!

We've been baking this delicious bread. I LOVE bread! I LOVE making bread! There's something almost meditative about it. I think I'll make some more tomorrow....

Well that's life in a nutshell. Hopefully I'll be back sometime in September...

Be blessed!

  1. Hi Deborah!

I'm so glad you decided to post! Even if it was very short. It still gave me a quick glimpse into your life, and that you're all doing well. I'm sorry to hear about Goderich, I'll be praying for the people. (going to click on the link after this) I'm also sorry to hear about the your artery. I hope it wasn't too painful, and the MRI goes well.

We start school next Monday (August 29th) and I hope your last weeks of summer are fun, go smoothly, and relatively slow.

    Blessings and ((Hugs)),
    ~Michlyn

P.S. I won't be able to stop by as often, now that I'm headed back to school, BUT I will as often as possible.

  9. Glad to hear from you--I've been wondering where you were! I'm tired and grumpy, too--school has started, and that always wears everybody out. You've had an exciting time of it lately, sounds like. Tell us more.

  10. Glad to hear you are all doing well, minus the hitting the artery part. I've been thinking about you! Wow... you were close to the tornado, so glad you were not there when it hit.

We had quite the t-storm pass over us last night...

Enjoy the last days of summer before school begins.

  11. Hi Deborah,
Love the way you sandwiched the head slicing and ear bleeding between thunderstorms and meditative bread baking! Which btw, sounds like a cool name for a new cookbook.
Take care of yourself, my friend!
    Hugs,
