Mei Tai

I ordered a mei tai in November and it arrived shortly before Christmas.  It is beautiful! And I am super impressed at how well crafted it is. It was hand (on her machine :o)) sewn by a woman in NC. She did a wonderful job! So if you're a baby wearer, or a young Mama looking for something to carry your wee one in, I highly recommend this company. I'm impressed with their selection, their craftsmanship, and  their service. The other really neat part? You can custom design your mei tai, for the same cost as an already made one. You will just need to wait a little longer for it to arrive. Here's mine:

I am totally in love with this Asian print!

Now, in case you're wondering, why a mei tai when our youngest is 3.5 yrs old? Well, Peanut weighs a mere 24lbs and Bright Eyes is barely 30lbs at age six, so I'm hoping one or both will like being carried -- especially when we're travelling through airports. It is a risk to purchase a mei tai for little ones we haven't even met who aren't newborns, but on the other hand, it might be the best investment that we make. I am hoping that they will like snuggling into the warmth and security of the mei tai as it will also help with the bonding process. I'll let you know in a couple months how well it worked -- or didn't ;o).

*** I was not requested by the Mei Tai Baby Company to give a review of this product.

Blessings!

I love the butterfly print! Butterflies represent new beginnings. Great idea to have this for the airport.

  4. Great idea! I've heard that carrying your children like that, is great for bonding. A friend is lending us one to try with Rafael when we pick him up. He looks like a big boy though so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully the girls will enjoy it.

  5. Really beautiful! I know you'll enjoy using this!

(I had such grand images of being a baby-wearing mom ... but my daughter would have none of it. I finally accepted reality and sold my baby slings on craigslist.)

  6. It's adorable. I'm kind of glad to know I'm not the only one with a little peanut. My 5yo is just now up to 34lbs.

  7. What agreat idea and I love the the look of your Mei Tai. I've heard such good reports about them, but I haven't used one and I even have one. I should pull it out and try to learn how to tie it properly. :)

I'm sure you can hardly wait to use it!!
