My Rice Cooker

I love this thing!!

I put in my rice and water, push the button down to cook and walk away. When its done, the button pops up to warm and I can get to it when I'm ready. Very simple and very effective.

Perfect rice every time!

  1. Congratulations on the new rice cooker!!! There is NOT one Filipino household without a rice cooker or TWO for family gatherings!!! It's an essential...since Filipinos eat rice for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and even DESSERTS!!! :-) We love our rice!!!! Welcome to the club!!!

  4. We love our rice cooker as well - although ours is plain white and not fancy red like yours (very nice). I love that I can throw the veggies in with the rice and do both together. Just add some kind of meat and sauce (pref a thai red curry mmm) and the meal is done. So easy!

  6. You know.... just 2 hours ago I was asking my very good friend about her rice cooker and all the yummies she makes with it :) Me thinks it's time to add one to my Christmas list! Thanks so much for the absolutely perfect timing! And happy weekend~

  7. I love mine, too! I use it a lot. I made homemade cinnamon applesauce in mine the other day. It was delicious and cooked rather fast. Enjoy the many possibilities!

  8. Lol! Agnes, I have made all of the colours of rice above, but green. Hmmm, now I'm wondering where I can find green rice. We actually all really love rice too. Sooo... will you be posting some recipes, so I can have the girls still eating rice at most meals :o)? I would love it if you did!

Summur, until my rice cooker I never made a great batch of rice either :os.

Kerrie, that sounds soooo good! My rice cooker is red because that's the only colour it came in. I quite like its cheery colour too.

Kelly, I bought it at Home Hardware in town. She ordered it in for me.

Heather, yes! Definitely add it to your list.

Allison family, that sounds excellent. I didn't think about the other possibilities besides rice. Now I'm even more thrilled with it!

    Blessings All!

  9. Hey Deborah!! I used to have a rice steamer for the microwave, which I loved, until Brian put it in the microwave without any water. It was not a happy ending for the rice steamer!!
I tried to e-mail you but I couldn't get it to send. Could you e-mail me and then I can respond. I just wanted to ask you some questions about the girls and where they live. Rafael also lives on Panay island.

  14. My daughter, Becky, would kill for this thing. She could live on rice and nothing else for the rest of her life if such a diet wouldn't give her diabetes in a matter of months!

  15. I just found your blog, and I have to say with Asian children we eat a lot of rice, but I always add some frozen peas or a mix of peas/corn to the rice... no extra water and the girls just LOVE this, try it! I even add a whole can of chopped tomatoes & garbanzo beans in the mix with some salt and herbs... fantastic!
    Experiment!

  16. Awesome!! Thank you, Mireille! My poor family already knows that I am not afraid to experiment when it comes to cooking. Guess what we're having for supper tonight :o)?!

    Blessings!
