Concentrate

I know where my kids get their inability to focus from now! That would be me! I've been working at really trying to focus on one thing at a time these days, but boy does my mind wander. Here is about ten minutes in my head:

  •  Why am I blogging? There is so much to do!
  • Ha ha, the puppy has hiccups.
  • My feet are freezing I should go put socks on.
  • Did I eat breakfast?
  • Is the basement clean enough to work on a sewing project?
  • I have to make supper early today and remember to pick the girls up from school. I can't believe their bus was rear-ended by a car this morning. How can one not notice a bus?!?
  • The flies in here are driving me CRAZY!! Why did God make flies anyways!?
  • Should I pick the last few zucchinis in the garden and grate them for more zucchini bread?
  • I need to sweep the kitchen floor.
  • Do I really feel like working out today? Ach, I never do, but once I do it I'll be glad!
Hah! No wonder I get headaches! Thank you all for your kind words and prayers on my behalf. Today I am feeling tired, but otherwise right chipper!

Since you now know a little more about my random thought process, I'll play catch up on our crazy lives.

The Engineer was in Houston again this week. I totally forgot to tell you Annesta! He was with co-workers in meetings the whole time though. He arrived home last night -- or rather met me at Bub's highschool. It was parent night. I am (so far) soooo impressed with his school! What a dedicated and conscientious group of staff and teachers. Bub now has an appointment today with the student life director all because we talked to one of the VP's about his desire to get involved in various activities, but feeling very confused about what starts when, and how to manage overlapping activities.

We are still enjoying one of our friends' puppies from the litter of ten. Thislittle guy is such an easy going fella! He has only had one accident in the house and that was because he slept all night without a middle-of-the-night bathroom break. One thing I've noticed though. Dogs stink! It doesn't help that he lets off silent, but deadly (SBD's) gas either! Peeeeew! How often can I bathe this little guy? Currently, he is snoring at my feet. Speaking of feet, you should see the size of this guy's feet!!

I thought the girls had missed the bus this morning, only to find out that the bus had been rear-ended by a car. Thankfully no one was injured, and happily, the other bus driver, when she was done her route, dropped her kiddoes off at the school, and then picked up the children on our route too.

The working out (still not as regularly as I would like) and the eating carefully is paying off finally. The spare tire is gone (YES!!!), as well as ten pounds, and eight and a half inches. Feelin' good!!

I have been methodically going through piles and piles of paper. I still have tons to go through, but things are becoming a little less cluttered. My goal is to have everything that is to be kept, boxed and labeled and ready to be moved in to my new storage room as soon as it is completed. It will be part of our addition. I haven't mentioned our addition at all really have I?! I'll save that for another post!

I should go continue to work on my basement. I'll post some before and after pictures if I ever get done down there. It could be awhile though!

Wishing you all a headache free and productive day!

  3. Do we ever have similar lives...minus a few kids and ages of them.

I am going to have to learn to watch what I eat as my running is next to nothing. Well, nothing really. How did you lose 8 inches? I must know this!

The picture of the dog is awesome. He looks like he is going to fly right out of the picture. I love it. How did you do it?

I am also trying (time hardly permits) to clean our basement from all the things we've stored. Too much stuff!

I see you started 1000 gifts. Going to read that now. :)

  4. Loved the "what's going on in my head" list. Hilarious! I need to do one of those. That would be SCARY!!!

Love the Lab picture! Labs have the worst gas of any dogs on the planet. Beware. Our black lab has had us fleeing from the room many times.

You lost 8 1/2"???? Wow! Good for you!

  5. Deborah,
I love your random thoughts! I sincerely hope that the Engineer had a good trip to Houston and everyone here treated him well. We had some rain off and on this week but otherwise the weather wasn't too bad. It's still rather hot although cooling down some (high 80's low 90's).
I love the picture of the puppy. I think you are going to be oh so sad when he goes away. But I completely understand about the smells that emanate from those creatures! We have two...mutt and jeff (not their real names).
Have a great end of the week.
    grace to you

  6. I think you are experiencing the adjustment of the school schedule. Give yourself a heaping portion of grace. The Lord is preparing you for the girls' arrival, giving you quiet and space, readying your heart. Don't try to do too much, be super productive, accomplish a lot. Soon, you'll have so much around you. Just rest.

  8. Wow! You really are on a kick to getting yourself and your home ready! Ten pounds is super impressive - it almost makes me want to take the wrapper off the exercise DVD I got for Christmas, almost!

    very strange about the bus.

P.S. I am going to attempt to make your zucchini boats for lunch. I'll let you know how they turn out.
