Space Cadet

I feel like a space cadet these days. My mind seems to be constantly over in the Philippines. They are exactly twelve hours ahead of us, so there are times of the day where our daughters across the ocean and we here are awake at the same time. I'm always wondering what they're doing. We know their bedtime is around eight. We know that Peanut still naps for an hour and a half in the afternoon. We know that Bella is an early riser and enjoys the morning sunshine. And well, Bright Eyes. We think she's going to keep us very busy with her sparkling eyes and impish smile.

They're not even here yet to help their older siblings make a mess and yet there are little reminders of them everywhere. Their photo on the refrigerator, little articles of clothing collected in piles, a wonderful box of hand-me-downs from my dear friend K, books for the plane ride home. I am reminded as I go to sleep at night and awaken in the morning that the Engineer and I are currently sleeping in their room.

They are first on my mind in the morning and last on my mind at night as I breathe a prayer for them. These next few months will go by oh-so-swiftly. There is so much to do to be ready. There will be lots of moments to treasure, memories to record, plans to be made. God is so good!

  4. Oh that IS exciting!

But wait, are there three? (Peanut, Bella, Bright Eyes?) Or did I miss something?!

And do you have any idea of a time frame for bringing them home? Will you need to make more than one trip to the PI?

  6. Deborah,
If you email me privately with the girls' ages/sizes, I may be able to help you out with some clothes if you need them. I have two enormous bins of Lily's things that I am looking to give away.

  7. Heather, I would love to be able to post photos, but for privacy reasons, I am not allowed until they are home with us :o(.

Yes, Julie, there are three! We're still pinching ourselves about that :o)! They will hopefully be home by Christmas, and we only have one trip to make! We think we're going to take Bub with. We would love to take them all, but flights are a fortune!

Wendy, won't shipping cost a fortune?!? I will email you. Thank you so much!

Thank you all for your prayers and your excitement on our behalf!

    Blessings!

  9. Wooooo-hooooo!

For some reason I thought it was two girls.

A family of NINE. It just takes a bit for that to sink in! You're going to need a big vehicle, too ;D

    How very, very exciting!!!

Wish there was a physical way I could help, but I am praying and rejoicing with you,

    Julie

  10. Deborah,

I would be happy to send them to you. I'm Ebaying some of it, but I have a lot of play clothes, some of which have never been worn that I would be happy to send. I don't know how old the girls are. The stuff is mostly 3T-4T. If they're anything like Becky was, they'll be tiny. I think Becky wore a size 4T for 3 years! Let me know if you're interested.

  11. Wow - three! I only thought it was 2 girls as well, so I kept re-reading what you'd written and thinking I must be missing something somewhere. How exciting! Poor Bub in a houseful of girls. LOL

  12. I'm also excited to hear that there are THREE!! Woohoo! I'm amazed constantly at the suddenliness of God. When it seems like He's been quiet for ages, He suddenly moves and that movement is WOW!

I can't wait to see pictures one day soon!
