Porch Renovation

On a thought out whim, we decided to take off  the porch railing on the west side:

Now we just need to do a little painting...

  1. It was neat to see your blog and the latest info on your adoption plans from the Philippines. Would like to hear more of that aspect is there any way I can contact you for more info?

  4. Julie,

I'm not sure what the look is either. I like traditional though. Sounds good to me.

    Blessings!

  5. Actually, it reminds me of older (in a good way!) houses in Australia :D

  6. Still thinking about your other post concerning friends in the church and meeting there together...here's a thought. I see a serene place on this post. A place I would like to visit. I have through reading your blog gathered a little bit of your beautiful life,a person I would like to know. But I have yet to meet with you, but this form of communication is the best I can hope for. I imagine in my mind, perhaps precariously, that I could meet you and feel like I know you already. Which is the better way?

Sorry to be so long-winded, but this strikes such a chord in my soul, because society is changing, and creating in us an isolation I feel is not what God intended.

Oh, I do like the open porch very much. It seems to go with the openness that surrounds your home.

  8. Hi Cathy,

I'm not sure I understood your question in the church post. We are not in the habit of giving up church in the least. I'm simply disappointed in the surfacey fb like friendships that we have at church. Not to say that we have no friends at church. We do have some. It's more that I feel guilty about not feeling guilty about not going.

My blog is where I am more real, more who I am. What my daily life entails. It's not perfect by any means, nor do I have the desire to show all the bad and the ugly. It brings me joy to write and is a creative outlet for me. Meeting other women like you is a wonderful blessing as a result. I imagine that if we could meet for real, I would be as blessed by your in the flesh friendship as I would our cyber friendship.

I hope this makes a little more sense :os.

    Blessings!

  9. Deborah,
I know I went back and gave a better explanation to what I was trying to say sometime last week... beginning something along the line of how faulty I am when I communicate at times. It does not seem you received this comment. Oh, Deborah...I can not even remember all I said that day! But the gist of the comment goes along this line, as far as I can tell from the life you show on your blog, we have very similar thoughts and beliefs on this matter. I apologize if I in any way directed likewise. You bless me with your friendship from afar! However, I can not help myself for wishing I could meet you in person.
