Skirt Making

Since our home is currently a disaster anyway. (There are little threads virtually everywhere). I thought I would continue working on some skirts I've been making. I was making some for the girls for spring when Randi, at I Have to Say... put out a request for skirts for Haiti, so I just continued on making them.

These are super simple skirts. Two trapezoids and some elastic and you have a skirt. Embellish with lace or a pocket here and there. So far our girls are still of a shape where sizing doesn't matter too much. I'm hoping the little ones in Haiti will be of a similar shape :o).

A little note on the blue one. I realized I didn't have enough fabric, so I pieced it together and much to my surprise, it worked!! I'm not one for deviating from what the pattern says because it just never works for me, so I was very pleased with how it turned out.

  2. Deborah, you amaze me! You are actually DOING something for people in Haiti. Not that giving money and praying are not good thing to do, it's just so great that you are giving of yourself. Thank you for stopping by and admiring my kitchen. Just picked out our new sink!

  5. The turquoise with the red ruffle is my favorite! Just curious, what pattern did you use? My girls could use some skirts like these, and I need to get out my foot powered sewing machine and blow off the dust :-)
