1000 Gratitudes

holy experience

Last week was a good week. A busy week, but a good week. Sometimes you have to look/think a little deeper to find the things you're thankful for, but other times they are oh so obvious. This past week was not a hard one to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.

361. The baby in the manger who came to be one of us.

362. A God who loves us so much that He came down as that baby in the manger.

363. Our home that was spared after leaving our Advent wreath burning while doing errands while the kids were at AWANA.

364. A break from school.

365. Quiet mornings.

366. Sunny mornings.

367. Good weather and

368. safety on the roads while traveling.

369. Time with family.

370. Christmas treats.

371. Christmas music, such as Handel's Messiah

372. Mother to son talks with my boy.

373. Talented children.

374. Church family.

375. Teachable moments.

376. Time for faith stories at church.

377. Abundant laughter.

378. Childlike excitement.

379. A sewing machine that doesn't let me down when I need it most.

380. Anticipation.

381. News that our homestudy is under review.

382. Lots of projects whirling in my brain.

383. Almost no obligations for a whole week!

384. A beautiful red poinsetta.

385. Joy!

386. Contentment.

If you would like to participate in the 1000 Gifts, hop on over to the Holy Experience and feel free to join in.

  3. So exciting to hear your homestudy is under review, it won't be long now!! We were so blessed when we adopted our two boys from Russia almost 6 years ago this february. I am so thrilled for your family.

    Have a blessed Christmas...

  4. LOVE that photo of the berries. Beautiful.

And so very thankful the Advent wreath didn't go up in flames... thank the Lord!

Haven't heard much about the adoption lately, glad to hear there is progress. It seems like such a long process.
