The Birthday Girl

We always say God squeeked this precious little girl in for us. I had some big postpartum problems after Beans was born and then two subsequent miscarriages, we were really not sure that we would/could have any more children. After a visit with my OB, he said he could see no reason why we shouldn't try again. I really didn't want the heartache of another baby that I would not meet until heaven, but by God's grace, approximately nine months later I was holding a new wee babe in my arms.

Squirt is a definite baby personality. Her big brown michievious eyes, dimpled smile, masterful pout, and infectious laughter wraps everyone she meets around her little finger. She is a total clown and thinks the whole world should revolve around her. Despite what other people see, she is far from sweet sometimes, but despite all her shenanigans, we love her dearly. She truly is a blessing from God and our lives have never been the same since her arrival one cold December morning six *sniff* years ago. Where does the time go?

I took these photos this afternoon because we actually had some SUN, but it was a little late in the afternoon, so the sun was too full in the room even with the sheers drawn and Squirt was not in the best of moods. With a little a lot of rearranging and pleading, I managed to get a couple decent ones, but not what I really wanted. The lighting is still off, and I would have loved to have seen her smile. It may be the last year for a baby toothed grin. I'll have to try again on another sunny day.

  1. Smiles are great, but you've probably captured more than you know in these pics ;-)

My "baby" is 7 and just about to lose his top front teeth. *sigh* Time flies...

  2. Happy Belated Birthday to your adorable princess! I know what you mean about time going by so quickly. My little one will be 3 the day after Christmas - it doesn't seem possible!

  3. I really like the first picture, Deborah! It looks so sweet, even if she wasn't in the best of moods. I love what you wrote here, *sniff* it really does go by so fast but what a blessing that God "squeaked her in" yet for you! It gives me hope for another baby someday, too.

    Happy Birthday, sweet girl!
