Our Bean Plants

On Sunday after church, Squirt took a peek at her plant in the dark for comparison to her one in the sunny windowsill. Whew! Was she surprised!

The one in the windowsill catching the light was just barely beginning to show some life. I didn't think to take a picture of it, but the roots they had put out were amazing even though there was no life above the soil yet!

The one in the cupboard had two plants up quite high already and a third one just beginning to pop out of the soil.

Here they are side by side this morning. I took the one in the cupboard out because the plants were stretching so far they were hitting the shelf above. You can see how pale it looks next to the one that has been enjoying the bright sunny window sill.

Of course Squirt decided that tall one was great because of its size, so I had a little more explaining to do. Now she knows. Yes, plants need light to be strong and healthy.

We'll leave them both in the windowsill for awhile and see what happens. It would be nice to have some fresh beans. :-)
