Sylvester

Our eight year old beloved cat Sylvester is waning. We are not sure how much longer he will last -- it could be moments, it could be days, it could be years. He is ill and is going to the vet for a diagnosis later this afternoon. We hope it's an inexpensive treatment that will make him well again, and if not we will have to choose the other gentle alternative. I don't know how much longer I can stand seeing him lay around with little life in him. He became ill so suddenly, but I guess when your cat is predominantly an outdoor cat, it is easy to miss the earlier signs.

Post veterinarian visit and lots of money later, just for blood work. We will know tomorrow what the diagnosis is. Dr. T. hydrated Vesters, so he is slightly more perky. Funny thing is how much he is purring. I'm beginning to wonder if it was more than just saline Dr. T gave him. :-) It is comforting to know that Sylvester is not in pain, but I'm not sure how long he'll be like that. For now we'll just enjoy our kitty and take it one day at a time.

Soaking in the morning sunlight...

  1. Awwwwwwwww - he's gorgeous! It's always so tough when we know our fur friends aren't feeling 100% and it's out of our hands. (((((HUGS)))))
